About
Hailu is a physician and international public health specialist with extensive experience in health systems design, global health, health economics, and digital health innovation. He previously held senior positions including Senior Advisor in the Ministry of Health-Ethiopia and Medical Director at ALERT Center.
His career encompasses work with Commonwealth Care Alliance and Market Access Africa on health system strengthening projects. He has led national initiatives in specialty services and health service transformation, as well as digital health and COVID-19 case management leadership.
Hailu teaches multiple courses at Harvard and serves as an instructor. He co-founded the African Health Conference at Harvard and has extensive research, practice, and consulting experience in global health with strong ties to and expertise in Sub-Saharan Africa.
